The CEO leads 1X into its next growth phase towards commercial milestones. This role involves a high degree of creativity, resilience, and leadership in navigating the challenges of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate the business model, ensuring its fit with the target market and potential for scalability
- Lead the development and implementation of the strategies for marketing, sales, product development, and operations
- Cultivate a strong culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the team
- Build and maintain key relationships with partners, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders critical to the business's early success
- Ensure the startup's compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Manage the company's budget, cash flow, and investment priorities efficiently, understand the unique financial challenges of a pre-revenue business
- Lead by example in customer discovery and validation processes, setting the groundwork for market-fit products or services
- Recruit, develop, and lead a team that is motivated and aligned with the startup's goals, even amidst uncertainty and limited resources
- Adjust strategies and plans as needed based on feedback, market conditions, and business opportunities
Requirements:
- Ability to learn quickly are crucial attributes
- Proven leadership experience, preferably in a startup or entrepreneurial environment
- Strong understanding of business model validation, market analysis, and lean startup methodology
- Ability to engage with investors and secure funding
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability to change
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with a talent for building rapport with a range of partners and stakeholders
- Passion for and understanding of the startup ecosystem
- Hands-on attitude and willingness to perform a wide range of tasks necessary for the startup's growth
- Strong organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, and task prioritization
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or relevant field; Master’s Degree or entrepreneurial experience is a plus
