Purpose
Success in this role is dependent on maintaining profitability and driving sustainable growth working closely with the Business Development.
As a key member of our Regional Consumer portfolio management team, you will work with the A&H Regional/Local business development and Underwriting team to create and execute pricing reviews and provide actuarial support to senior management for our A&H Consumer Lines portfolio. You will be responsible for management support related to actuarial, pricing, product development and portfolio management. The role can be split by 70% on Leisure Travel and 30% for Direct Marketing business within A&H business.
You will conduct detailed analysis across the portfolio to make pricing recommendations and to track the results of any campaigns, tests, new products or experiments that have been executed.
Engage the A&H global underwriting and actuarial team to ensure the pricing is agreed and approved.
Responsibilities
- For large case referrals, provide actuarial support, analysis and provide recommendations in terms of pricing, loss estimation and peer review of the P&L
- Plan and drive annual pricing review schedule closely working with underwriting and business development team
- Conduct detailed portfolio segmentation analysis and drive the portfolio management culture to be embedded within the underwriting team across countries
- Support the regional underwriter in Account Management and liaise regularly with Home Office about the progress made and Corrective Actions proposed and implemented.
- Work together with the Regional Underwriting team to review according to the approved schedule the official list of Large accounts across the Region, and recommend and implement corrective actions on those cases that require Improvement
- Provide actuarial support and analysis in developing new product idea and pricing the product. Also set up post launch monitoring tools in place
- Participate in the Monthly Calls and Quarterly Reviews with Home Office staff, prepare regular reports for the Chief Underwriter & Actuary, and coordinate the information that is regularly sent to Home Office
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree on Actuarial/Stats/Mathematics
- A&H Product/Business in actuarial, Insurance knowledge and understanding Chubb
- Proven record of ability to work effectively in a highly-matrixed organization across all levels of an organization.
- Possess strong influencing and interpersonal skills, honed in a demanding and high performing work environment.
- Track record in a leadership role, experience in bridging technical insights and business needs
- Pricing and underwriting A&H accounts in a multinational environment.
- Advanced level of SAS, SQL and EMBLEM
- Actuarial reserving experience
