Purpose of Role

The Pricing Actuarial Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation and growth of a business by taking ownership of the end-to-end product lifecycle for pricing products. This dynamic and exciting position not only involves utilizing traditional actuarial methodologies but also focuses on harnessing the power of technology, data analytics, and digital strategies to propel the organization forward in the ever-evolving digital era.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Lead the team to analyse portfolio performance and provide insights to inform pricing decisions. This involves monitoring key metrics, identifying trends, and recommending adjustments to pricing strategies based on the analysis
  • Develop, prioritize, and maintain the product roadmap and team backlog, identifying and prioritizing features and enhancements that drive speed-to-market and business impact.
  • Collaborate with the squad during the build and testing of product capabilities to ensure the quality of the end product. This includes providing guidance, reviewing work, and ensuring that the product meets established standards.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and design target journeys and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, UW, and claims, to identify business needs, align analytics initiatives, and translate data-driven insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data analytics, actuarial methodologies, and proactively identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and methodologies for continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Pursuing or ideally completed professional certifications, such as Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).
  • Strong experience (7+ years) in actuarial roles, with 3+ years in pricing.
  • Proficiency in various analytics tools and programming languages, such as Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Ease in working with senior decision makers, and all levels of the organization, across functions.
  • Ability to take minimal direction and work independently with high precision/quality of output.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically and drive data-driven decision-making.
