About Busways

Busways was founded in 2006, and over the years has successfully grown from its humbled beginning of five to a company comprising of a strong three hundred headcounts. Today, Busways is being accredited by BCA with the highest electrical grading of L6, further cementing the growth foundation. Over the years, we have continued to acquire deepened and broadened know-how, culminating in the many significant and successful implementations of projects with bigger magnitude and increasing complexity. With the advent of digitalization, the company is well positioned to capitalize growth opportunities in various pathways. As such, we are looking for a CEO to assist the current Managing Director cum Founder, to steward the exciting journey ahead.


Role and Responsibilities:

Business

  • Able to grasp and align to company goals and objectives
  • Able to secure buy-in from key personnel, leaders and managers rapidly
  • Analyzes the current structure and restructure (if needed) for further growth
  • Corporatizes the company optimally utilizing digitalized tools and platforms
  • Examines functional depth and reinforces for further growth
  • Expands sales funnel and enlarges book order
  • Leads and exemplifies to optimize project and business’s profitability
  • Leads to ringfence and minimize project implementation risks and costs
  • Equips with a big picture perspective to identity and preempt potential implications as well as opportunities
  • Plays a pivotal and active business development role in assisting and supporting to secure big and complex turnkey projects
  • Leads to build a business development team
  • Leads to expand coverage beyond Singapore
  • Leads to segmentize to optimize profit and resource utilization
  • Supports to enhance company’s brand equity and value
  • Leads in key decision making and day-to-day operation
  • Leads in charting company’s directives (short, mid, long)
  • Leads to achieve best-in-class in the mechanical & electrical contracting domain
  • Leads and supports to develop a talent management system
  • Leads and supports to devise a robust and comprehensive procurement strategy
  • Able to work and communicate well with founder and CFO, notwithstanding

Finance

  • Has a natural flair in numbers
  • Astute in financial ratios to identify areas for reinforcement and growth
  • Achieves financial targets and goals (revenue, profit, cashflow, ROCE)
  • Has an analytical and sharp mind to identify business opportunities
  • Leads and supports to achieve cost leadership
  • Leads and supports to achieve market-leader’s profitability
  • Ability to grasp financial concepts quickly and deeply in different contexts
  • Well expose in cashflow management and the different available avenues
  • Able to lead financial-driven projects and initiatives
  • Leads to leverage on financial methodologies and mechanisms to spearhead rapid growth

Strategic

  • Well expose to strategy formulation process and outcome
  • Able to roadmap, communicate and implement short, mid, long-term plans
  • Pursues, drives and achieves organic and inorganic growth
  • Leads in negotiation, deliberation and execution of strategic decisions taken
  • Able to balance and manage risk-takings and returns
  • Equips or develops a ‘’sharp eye’’ for strategic growth opportunities
  • Able to position and market company’s inroads into green sustainable projects, monetizing thereafter
  • Able to maneuver policies and stay at the forefront to secure competitive advantage
  • Leads to form and thread an ecosystem of subsidiaries with adjacency and complementary synergies

Requisite:

  • At least 15 years of experience in the built environment or B2B engineering background
  • At least 10 years of key management experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant and regional exposure (current or recent years) within Southeast Asia
  • Several years of MNC experience is ideal (not a must)
  • Proven track record and well versed in industry’s rules, regulations, and directives
  • Flair in people management and financially astute
  • People oriented, relishing business development and epitomizes entrepreneurship
  • Experience in managing P&L relative to a revenue of S$50-100million, and exponentially beyond
  • Has the dynamism and appetite to manage different business units and a group of companies
  • Exposes to IPO and Merger-&-Acquisition is ideal (not a must)
  • Comfortable and eloquent in town hall, public and media facing
  • Agile, open, fast learner, resourceful, genuine, assertive
  • Engineering degree, MBA a plus (others such as finance can be considered)
