【Job Description】
- Lead, supervise and manage Corporate Banking Department.
- Within the operations of Chugoku Bank in Singapore, this role primarily focuses on managing the practices within the realms of business development and customer service, with the main mission to increase the loan balance.
- Responsibilities include overseeing the front office operations of our Singapore Branch, executing tasks with accountability while supervising multiple team members, based on a deep practical knowledge of the related areas mentioned below. This role contributes to the promotion of Chugoku Bank’s business in Singapore and the Asian region, including Japan, by facilitating practical business development.
- Providing financial support (mainly ship finance) to customer expanding into Southeast Asia, including Singapore
- Supporting new expansion of Japanese companies into Singapore and other countries, and operational support for existing expansions.
- Syndicated loan initiatives in Singapore and elsewhere
- Development of new business opportunities in loans and deposits.
- Sales activities for Chugoku Bank Group’s key existing customers (companies headquartered in Japan) and prospective customers, including direct presentations and negotiations with executive management at the Japan HQ.
- Handling part of the customer KYC processes as a first line of defense.
- Conducting credit analysis, analyzing financial status and business environment, preparing credit proposals, and negotiating with the Japan HQ to execute appropriate loan projects.
- Establishment, revision and annual review of the Branch’s policies and manuals.
- Periodic activity reports to Japan HQ.
- The candidate is expected to report to the General Manager about the situations and needs of key stakeholders, as well as the status of negotiations with them, at appropriate times, contributing to the stable execution and expansion of Chugoku Bank’s overseas business.
- Any other duties to be assigned by General Manager / Deputy General Manager.
【Requirements】
- Over 10 years of corporate banking sales experience in a financial institutions, and relevant work experience within the last 5 years is required.
- Over 5 years of experience in ship finance.
- Deep understanding of financial regulations, laws, guidelines, and information security not only in Singapore but also in Japan, since operations must comply with financial regulations in Japan.
- Ability to understand and implement the Branch’s policies, manuals and procedures and provide direction, guidance and execution to other staff.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required.
- Japanese language proficiency is required as reports and planning materials must be prepared in Japanese with the Japan HQ, system vendors, and various related organizations.
