We are seeking a dependable and skilled Lorry Driver to transport goods to various locations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely deliveries, adhere to road safety regulations, and maintain the condition of their assigned vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport and Delivery: Safely operate a lorry to transport goods to assigned destinations within agreed timeframes.
- Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring the correct handling and securing of items to avoid damage during transit.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and submit delivery paperwork, including delivery notes, receipts, and other required documents.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local and national traffic laws, as well as company policies and safety standards, including the use of seat belts, speed limits, and securing cargo.
- Customer Service: Communicate politely and professionally with clients upon delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any issues or concerns.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and observing safety protocols during loading/unloading.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 4 license
- Proven experience as a lorry driver or similar role in the transportation industry.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy loads (up to 15kg).
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to navigate using GPS and read maps.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
