The Support Assistant shall report to the School’s Head of Department (HOD) of Science and HOD of Student Development.
The job scope includes the following:
Support for Science Resources
Preparation and Maintenance:
Prepare resources (as requested by teachers) for science lessons and activities for Primary 3 to 6 students.
Ensure that equipment and materials are stored away after each activity or lesson.
Maintain housekeeping of science labs and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained.
Maintain an inventory of lab equipment and materials and conduct stocktaking regularly.
Assist HOD Science in counting materials for replenishing stock.
Assist HOD Science in implementing general safety measures for science labs and assist in monitoring.
Oversee the lab schedule for science lessons.
Perform all cleaning duties of the science labs.
Support for IBEEP Room (Activity Centre)
Operational Needs:
Loan out games to students.
Manage student safety and discipline at the activity centre.
Create simple resources and manipulatives (materials will be provided) as directed by the school.
Maintain housekeeping of the activity centre (ensure that equipment and materials, e.g., Lego sets, Playstations, etc., are clean and well-maintained).
Maintain an inventory of IBEEP equipment and materials and conduct stocktaking regularly.
Assist in setting up the IBEEP room for school events/activities.
Support school programmes as required.
Perform all cleaning duties of the IBEEP room.
Other Duties
Perform any other duties as assigned by School Leaders, HOD Science, HOD Student Development, or Administration/Operations.
Support the Operations Manager in maintaining cleanliness of the science labs and IBEEP room.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience of Personnel
The personnel should preferably have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
a) Fluent communication in English.
b) Preferably possess GCE ‘O’ Level certification.
c) Preferably have 2 years of experience in science lab support and working with children in a group setting in primary schools.
d) Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
e) Preferably have knowledge of basic Microsoft Office skills.
f) A good working attitude, willingness to learn, and readiness to take on new challenges.

Monday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (incl. 0.5 hr lunch)
Tuesday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (incl. 0.5 hr lunch)
Wednesday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (incl. 0.5 hr lunch)
Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (incl. 0.5 hr lunch)
Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (incl. 0.5 hr lunch)
Total Working Hours per Week 42 hours
Note: Services are not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays.
