Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and optimize day-to-day operations within AWS cloud environment. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless system performance, implement cloud-based strategies for continuous improvement, and support key infrastructure and operations functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily cloud operations, ensuring optimal system performance and availability.
- Collaborate with the data engineering team, operations manager, and project manager to implement improvement plans leveraging AWS Cloud solutions.
- Monitor and maintain Service Desk operations, providing L1 and L2 support where necessary.
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Linux & Windows servers, AWS Cloud infrastructure, storage solutions, NAS servers, and big data clusters.
- Set up, install, configure, and deploy new servers on AWS, ensuring security hardening based on best practices and guidelines.
- Perform system backups, AWS cloud security management (e.g., IAM roles, security groups, firewalls), and ensure data integrity.
- Coordinate with vendors and engineers for installations, upgrades, and patching of hardware and software, both on-premise and AWS environments.
- Manage application/platform and security incidents on AWS, working with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely issue resolution and compliance with SLAs.
- Handle hardware and software asset management, including AWS cloud resource tracking and optimization.
- Ensure operational processes are thoroughly documented and comply with audit and security standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing AWS Cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and related services.
- Strong background in Linux & Windows server administration, including on-premise and cloud-based setups.
- Familiarity with cloud security, including IAM roles, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Experience in data backups, server setup, and hardening in both traditional and cloud environments.
- Expertise in incident management, working under pressure to resolve issues and meet SLAs.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, particularly in documenting processes and complying with audit requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with big data platforms and NAS servers.
- Familiarity with automation tools and cloud infrastructure optimization.
