Food Court Stall/Kitchen Assistant Job Description

Position Overview:
The food court stall/kitchen assistant plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service by preparing and serving la mian (Chinese hand-pulled noodles) to customers at the food court stall. The position focuses on assisting with food preparation, including pulling noodles, assembling dishes, and ensuring that the food is served promptly.The food court stall assistant will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation: Prepare simple food items with a focus on la mian (hand-pulled
noodles), including tasks such as toasting, reheating, steaming, and assembling noodle
dishes.
2. Serving: Serve la mian dishes to customers when required.
3. Takeaway Packaging: Package la mian and other food items for takeaway orders.
4. Order Taking and Communication: Take customer orders and communicate them to the
kitchen, either manually or using Point of Sale (POS) systems or other software.
5. Cashiering: Collect payments from customers and perform cashier duties, such as issuing
refunds when necessary.
6. Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of la mian ingredients and other food items,
raising inventory orders as needed to ensure sufficient supplies.
7. Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in food preparation areas, equipment, cutlery, and crockery.
Additional responsibilities may include:
1 Ingredient Preparation: Prepare ingredients for la mian dishes according to the
establishment’s recipes and procedures, such as washing, peeling, chopping, measuring,
mixing, and kneading.
2. Portioning and Assembling: Portion, assemble, and package la mian dishes and other
menu items.
3. Stock Processing: Handle new inventory, including receiving, storing, and packing items,
and ensure stock levels are sufficient for each shift.
4. Kitchen and Equipment Cleaning: Keep kitchen stations, equipment, tables, cutlery, and
crockery is clean and organized.
Requirements:
- ** Applicable to Singaporeans only due to quota limitations
- Secondary school education or equivalent.
- Previous experience in food service, food court or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Those with F&B experience will be favourably considered
- Positive working attitude and a ready smile
- Possess a valid Food Safety and Hygiene certification
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic maths skills for handling payments.
