We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Regional Business Development Manager for one of our global ship services clients. The role will be responsible to drive the development of new business opportunities and introduce innovative solutions, such as Energy Consulting and Power-to-X (PtX), while ensuring the sustainability of existing core businesses (power plants).
This includes a strong focus on the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and balancing market. The role involves preparing business models, conducting market segmentation and analysis, and pre-selecting potential customers and partners to support strategic goals and increase order intake in the region.
The ideal candidate would have relevant experience in identifying and developing new business opportunities, revenue models and streams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and assess new business opportunities, models, and revenue streams.
- Identify and evaluate new market potentials based on customer insights (including input from IGCs/Sales Managers) and market data.
- Continuously optimize existing business models to maintain competitiveness.
- Prepare internal profitability statements to assess the economic viability of proposed business models.
- Perform numerical calculations to evaluate and compare business models with partners, competitors, or alternative solutions.
- Initiate competitor benchmarking and analysis in collaboration with Market Intelligence.
- Identify and configure necessary solutions, products, and/or services for the proposed business model (Value Proposition).
- Act as Project Manager for new solution sales projects during the Early Project Development Phase.
- Drive the sales of new solutions in the region.
- Lead market entry efforts for new solutions and Energy Consulting services in selected regional markets.
- Seek out business opportunities and customer projects related to new solutions.
- Serve as the “Quality Gate” for identified business opportunities.
- Report on leads and opportunities within the respective region.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategy in the energy or marine industry, with a strong focus on power solutions.
- Proven track record of developing new business models, identifying market opportunities, and managing strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of energy solutions, power plants, CHP systems, PtX (Power-to-X) technologies, and sustainability trends.
- Proficiency in market analysis, benchmarking competitors, and identifying emerging trends.
- Good knowledge of profitability analysis and market segmentation.
- Ability to understand and address customer needs, creating tailored solutions that align with business objectives.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to travel within the region as required for business development activities.
