Job Description & Requirements

R&D Engineer, Mechanical (Singapore/Malaysia)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of cutting-edge products from concept to mass production.
  • Design electro-mechanical subsystems, micro-mechanisms, and transmission systems with precision and innovation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams and part suppliers throughout the product lifecycle in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coordinate the construction of prototypes and pilot-run articles to ensure high-quality production standards.
  • Evaluate and review vendor performance to maintain quality and efficiency in the supply chain.
  • Lead project discussions and provide technical guidance as needed to drive project success.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the company to support overall business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Solid Designer.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in mechanism or automation design are preferred.
  • Expertise in sheet metal, injection molded, and rubber parts design.
  • Solid understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience in performing stack tolerance analysis to ensure product reliability and performance.
  • Excellent team player with a strong passion for innovative design.
  • Willingness to participate in overseas attachments as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes related to sheet metal and injection molding.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities in a multidisciplinary team.
