JOB TITLE
Project Engineer
JOB PURPOSE
Assist project manager in coordinating and exercising functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of a project
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the Project Team supervises the project engineer in maintaining the Project Team manpower, materials and vehicles resources to ensure the project are successfully completed within the project deadline with good quality and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project-based Duties:
Manages a total of 3 direct staff in Project Team – Quantity Surveyor, Site Supervisor, WSH Safety Coordinator
Indirect reports - 15 workers
Responsible for:
• Progress of project
• Deadline and the project budget
• Responsible to create and maintain positive team spirit
• All manpower issues such as Workers Home Leave Application
DUTIES
Project Management
1. Assist the project manager to manage project team resources and training such assigning work to project personnel and evaluating their work performance, resolving engineering design and test problems
2. Resolve all manpower issues such as Workers Home Leave Application when necessary
3. Attend to worker’s grievances and complaints and act to consult and motivate them
4. Assist the project manager to manage the Project Team materials resources and vehicle resources to ensure all project resources are effectively controlled and utilized
5. Resolve all technical, engineering design and test problems when necessary
6. Ensure the Project Team complied to all safety rules and regulations as stipulated by our Company and the Clients
7. Liaise with main-contractor, consultant, professional engineer and resident engineer on behalf of senior project manager on project work and schedules to make the project operations move smoothly
8. Schedule preparation and resource forecasting for specific engineering activities relating to the project to accommodate required changes in project work schedules
9. Establish and manage project budget and costing of the project to ensure the project costing is justified and well-administered
10. Be present at the project sites to assist senior project manager in supervising the progress of the project to ensure effective and efficient completion of the project within the deadlines
11. Attend weekly internal project team meeting to ensure project operations move smoothly
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications
• Degree in Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
Experiences
• 5 years of relevant site experience working in Jurong Island
• Require own transport in Jurong Island
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Attitude)
Knowledge
• ISO and OHSAS
• Acquinted with the everyday use British Standard (BS), Code of Practice (CP) and Singapore Standard (SS) codes
Skills
• Excellent leadership ability
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Possess technical skill to read the technical drawings and perform project planning
• Excellent written and verbal communication ability in English and preferably in another Asian language (eg. Mandarin, Bahasa Melayu, Thailand)
