Job Summary:
The Social Work Associate (SWA) will work with the Casework Manager(CM) to assist in providing interventions and programmes, and performing community development work. Candidate will assist in coordinating case and group work, and community development activities. Candidate will also support community events and perform administrative duties.
1. Key responsibility areas
Casework Management
*Reach out to collect information and conduct assessment of resident's basic needs.
*Coordinate, implement and follow up on case plans and aftercare plans for residents.
*Assist in assessing community needs and the compilation of community resources.
*Liaise with agencies, make service referrals, and assist in developing and implementing programmes.
*Handle assigned administrative duties.
Other Ad-hoc duties
*Escort residents for group outings when on duty.Perform weekend or *Public Holiday duties as rostered.
*Assist in briefing new emplacements on The Turning Point house rules and regulations.
*Conduct emplacement interviews.
2. Requirements
Experience:
· Between 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience
· Some experience in doing family strengthening work
Qualifications:
Diploma in Social Work, Social Services or related fields (WSQ Diploma in Social Service)
Other Requirements:
· Fluent in English, both written and spoken
· Conversational Mandarin to communicate with Chinese-speaking residents.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
· Strong communications and inter-personal skills
· Able to work well independently or in a team
· Strong organisational and planning skills
· Passion for service
· Comfortable working in a halfway house
