Job Scope:
- Coordinate with Teams: Work with construction teams, QP(D), QPS, LTA, and subcontractor PEs on design tasks.
- Prepare and Review Drawings: Create shop drawings for temporary and permanent works, check subcontractor drawings, and obtain necessary approvals from QP(D) and LTA.
- Engage in Temporary Works: Discuss temporary works schemes, clarify engineering design aspects, and build strong relationships with site operations. Ensure compliance with as-built temporary works and communicate design expectations to site personnel. Monitor site changes and raise requests with the designer when needed.
- Monitor Design Submissions: Track progress of design submission packages assigned by the design manager, ensuring they are complete and efficient.
- Review Calculations: Evaluate design calculations and provide additional calculations as requested by the construction team, securing PE endorsement as needed.
- Optimize Solutions: Seek to enhance temporary and permanent work solutions by minimizing risks, maximizing reuse, and ensuring cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with designers and site teams to achieve consensus on engineering approaches.
- Issue Resolution: Address issues, provide insights, and escalate critical concerns to the Design Manager.
- Support Design Manager: Assist with ad hoc design issues as requested and prepare meeting minutes for LTA design meetings.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, Post-Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural) or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in the construction industry (design) or a similar area.
