The Opportunity
As a core member of the Singapore Architecture Office, you will play a pivotal role in delivering strategic initiatives that align with both Singapore and regional visions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to multiple local and regional teams, providing strategic consulting as the primary interface between business and technology throughout the lifecycle of these initiatives. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding and inspiring the teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Highly adaptive to a dynamic technology landscape, you will collaborate with other architects and domain experts to ensure successful business value delivery. You should be an effective communicator, quick to learn new tools and systems, and flexible in the face of change. Your ability to swiftly understand business challenges and use a combination of tools and concepts to create solution proposals will be essential. This role reports directly to the Head of Architecture, Singapore.
Responsibilities:
- Define end-to-end solutions and enhance solution maturity across architecture layers.
- Establish solution roadmaps in alignment with Manulife’s regional target architecture in respective domains.
- Serve as an internal consultant to produce business transformation proposals with a clear architectural vision and lead the implementation of business transformation solutions through the definition and realization of interim architectures.
- Act as a domain expert to guide development teams in creating technical solutions that leverage business requirements, reference architecture, and solution architecture under the direction of the Asia Technology Office.
- Review, interpret, and respond to business requirements to ensure alignment between customer expectations and technology capabilities.
- Develop, test, and implement technology solutions, reporting on delivery commitments to ensure solutions are implemented as expected.
- Conduct Proof of Concepts to validate technology concepts and trends.
- Identify areas for improvement and suggest solution roadmaps to bridge any gaps.
- Assist country architects in the review of design and assessment of solutions.
- Partner with the DevOps owner to advance Engineering Excellence practices and provide guidance to the development team
Requirements:
- Strong leadership in technology, innovation, and team development.
- Deep understanding of business strategy and the ability to craft software, platform, and infrastructure architecture plans to support business outcomes.
- Extensive knowledge of application architecture and digital concepts, practices, and tools.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in security architecture.
- Broad knowledge of architectural frameworks and the ability to produce effective design principles.
- Experience with Microservice and API-based architectures.
- Awareness of industry technology trends and DevOps experience.
- Familiarity with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other software engineering best practices to accelerate the delivery and quality of new features.
- Ability to quickly comprehend new technologies and assess their potential impact and value for the organization.
- Extensive knowledge of the insurance business, systems, and processes is a plus.
- Experience with legacy transformation is a plus.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
