The Children and Youth Group (CYG) in The Salvation Army Singapore serves hundreds of vulnerable children and youth yearly. In line with our vision to provide a continuum of care to uplift those in need, our services span from preventive services, foster care and residential services to reunification support services for vulnerable children returning to their natural families after being removed due to safety concerns. RESPONSIBILITIES
About the job
Working with the ED of Children and Youth Group (CYG), the Asst Manager is expected to lead the development of new fundraising channels through community engagement as well as engaging and increasing the donations from the current ones. The Asst Manager will also recruit and engage volunteers and corporates to support the needs of vulnerable children and families under our care, whether in our children's homes or other services. The Asst Manager will regularly engage potential and current supporters of CYG in order to deepen relationships and networks so that our pool of supporters can be grown.
Job Responsibilities
- Community Partnership and fundraising
- Raise funds for our cause and meet fundraising targets
- Lead in planning and coordinating events, whether by TSA PR or by CYG, to raise funds
- Create marketing materials, like flyers and brochures, to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising needs
- Develop and deepen relationship with our key supporters and widen networks to increase and deepen reach to more committed donors
- Work with CYG centres to lead, co-develop, coordinate and/or execute fundraising initiatives, events and campaigns as needed
- Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications
- Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships and increase penetration into community networks
- Collaborate with other organisations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities.
- Volunteer Recruitment and Management
- Recruit and build a good pool of volunteers and corporates to meet the needs of CYG, especially those of our children's homes
- Work with the necessary partners to enable positive experiences for volunteers and corporates
- Work with necessary stakeholders to plan and manage volunteers so that they are able to execute the role that they have been given and CYG and our clients can benefit
- Manage volunteer communications and complaints where necessary
- Professional Development, Supervision & Training
- Promote professional development through identifying learning needs, transfer of skills and knowledge and offer training where appropriate to the team
- Seek out learning opportunities such as participating in meetings, ministry level assignments, practise research and development to further develop skills and capabilities of the group
- Supervise and guide the team in their work and monitor the application of principles and protocols
- Administration
- Keep good records of donor engagements
- Coordinate, develop and compile all necessary reports for submission and presentation in various boards, both internal and external
- Undertake any other duties as and when required and in consistent with the position
- Undertake any other professional duties as and when required
- Thought Leadership
- Lead in the crafting, proposing and execution of fundraising and volunteer management initiatives
- To lead the team in execution of programmes
- Diploma or Degree from a recognised institution
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Preferably in Social Services
- Keen to work in children and youth sector.

Working Hours
Total work hours is 44 hours per week.
Under normal circumstances the hours of duty will be as follows:
10am to 7pm Monday to Friday (inclusive 1 hour lunch break).
CYG runs 24/7 services, hence flexibility in work arrangement is expected.
