Who We Are
Kactus is a photography, videography and livestream studio. We cover events, manage hybrid productions and produce videos for corporate clients and institutions.
Internship Overview
We are looking for an intern that can assist in our projects and potentially convert to a full-timer. Internship period is 6 months.
Work Schedule
- 10am-6pm
- 5 days per week
- May have to work on weekends or odd timings. Off days will be given if work exceeds 5 days a week.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist with productions: Setup, teardown, manning cameras, lights, microphones and other aspects of the production
- Maintain equipment: Pack, unpack, ensure devices are charged, clean and tidy up equipment cases, report equipment defects
- Maintain studio: Ensure work areas are clean and tidy, no trip hazards, guiding people who rent the studio space
Requirements
- Our projects are varied. One day we can be shooting portraits, another day we can be filming interviews and architecture, and then we can be running a live show on Zoom. You are expected to:
- Be observant and meticulous
- Be proactive and enthusiastic in your work and learning
- Able to efficiently spot and troubleshoot problems
- Be proficient in writing and speaking English
- Have flexible schedule, since our projects/events can take place in the evenings or weekends
This is an internship, so we don’t expect you to know everything from day 1. However, it’s a plus to have:
- Basic knowledge in photography & videography
- Experience in using mirrorless cameras
- Familiarity with macOS and iOS
- Passion in these fields
What You’ll Learn
- Camera handling (settings, framing, movement, etc.)
- Lighting (LED panels, strobe, modifiers, etc.)
- Audio (types of microphone, how to mic up a person, etc.)
- Setup for various types of production (multicam recording, livestream, interviews etc.)
Additional Knowledge
If you are keen to learn, we are keen to teach! If you wish to expand your knowledge further, here’s what we can teach you:
- Video workflows and editing on Final Cut Pro
- Photo workflows and editing on Lightroom and Photoshop
- Live-stream concepts and setups
- Audio concepts and editing
