Our client focuses on designing and manufacturing consumables for lapping and polishing, including pads, slurries, and abrasives. They utilize specialized machinery and techniques to achieve precise surface finishes on a variety of materials.
Due to its growing business in the region, they are now setting up a new office in Singapore and seeking for a Director with a background in manufacturing for the abrasive industry to join their business.
As the key incumbent to the business, this person will have strategic leadership in operations planning, capacity planning, derive and implement processes, and maintain a good relationship with customers with the aim to achieve operations effectiveness, and profit growth to the company.
Your responsibilities include:
- Developing long-term goals and strategies to drive growth and profitability.
- Ensuring efficient manufacturing processes and optimizing production lines.
- Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to maintain the company's fiscal health.
- Building and leading a strong management team, fostering a positive company culture, and ensuring alignment with company values.
- Overseeing procurement and logistics to ensure materials are available and operations run smoothly.
- Implementing and maintaining standards to ensure product quality and compliance with regulations.
- Encouraging research and development to improve existing products and develop new ones.
- Monitoring industry trends and competitor activity to stay competitive.
- Communicating with shareholders, investors, and other stakeholders to keep them informed and engaged.
- Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in manufacturing operations, 10-12 years minimum with a track record of strategic planning and execution in a manufacturing environment; particularly from the Abrasive tools industry.
- Has the ability to balance short-term operational needs with long-term strategic goals while adapting to changing market conditions.
- Strong ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a positive corporate culture.
- Experience in building and managing effective teams.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to manufacturing.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality control.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and competitive landscapes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin
- Ability to articulate vision and strategies clearly.
- Understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
