An Associate Consultant is responsible for the supervision and teaching of House Officers, Medical Officers, Residents, Senior Residents and Registrars. He/She is responsible for the overall supervision and management of all patients in the assigned ward. He/She is primarily responsible for the whole Department when on emergency call and for seeing urgent referrals and attending to critically ill patients admitted to the wards.
