Job Summary:
The Topsides Package Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, and integration of topside packages for the FPSO. This role will ensure that all topside systems are designed, fabricated, installed, and commissioned according to project requirements, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards. The position requires strong coordination with multiple stakeholders, including engineering teams, vendors, and construction contractors, to ensure the seamless execution of the topsides package within budget and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the topsides package for the FPSO, including design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning.
- Act as the primary point of contact between engineering, procurement, and fabrication teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of topside systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to oversee the development, specification, and procurement of equipment and materials.
- Review and approve design documentation, including equipment layouts, P&IDs, data sheets, and technical specifications.
- Ensure topside packages comply with project requirements, industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor progress and resolve technical issues during construction, installation, and commissioning.
- Liaise with the project management team to ensure package engineering aligns with overall project goals.
- Conduct risk assessments, including HAZOP and HAZID, and implement mitigations.
- Provide technical input during design reviews, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Support interface management between topsides, hull, and marine systems.
- Ensure proper documentation and handover procedures for commissioning and operations phases.
- Contribute to project planning, including defining scopes, budgets, and schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Process Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in topsides engineering within the oil and gas industry, particularly FPSO projects.
- Strong knowledge of topsides systems (e.g., production, processing, utilities) and experience in package management.
- Familiarity with international standards and regulations (API, ASME, ISO, etc.) related to FPSO design and construction.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, with experience in overseeing procurement, fabrication, and installation.
- Experience with risk management techniques (HAZOP, HAZID, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project coordination skills.
- Proficient in engineering software and tools for design and project management.
