Job Title: Coach Development Manager


A. PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE

The Coach Development Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of SAQ’s coaching education and development initiatives in line with the direction and objectives of the Association.


B. RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coach Education and Development

· Maintaining relationships and communications with various stakeholders

· Coordinating with Coach SG to ensure seamless integration of NROC membership requirements and accreditation programming across all platforms.

· Work with the National Head Coach, Technical Director and National Swimming Program Head to assess and develop relevant content for courses and workshops for CoachSAQ.

· Work with National Head Coach, Technical Director and National Swimming Program Head to assess and steer delivery of the courses and workshops for TeachSAQ.

· To co-ordinate and educate SAQ-recognised Coach Developers and Mentors for Coaching Sessions and Workshops.

· Manage and maintain registry of CoachSAQ and TeachSAQ registered coaches.

· Participate in delivery of Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Coaching and Teaching streams, including:

i. Onsite assessments and coordination of SAQ Prior Education Waiver program

ii. Liaison for attachment centres for Level 1

iii. Supervise and guide SG Coach Level 1 swimming integrated program coursework and assessments

· To oversee the swimming teachers’ and coaches’ membership services and membership platforms including:

i. Renewals and Validity of membership

ii. Marketing

iii. Resources Development

iv. Maintenance and function of Web Platforms

· Develop a monitoring and evaluation tool for collation of data to track Teachers and Coaches in terms of their potential to move up to higher tiers for continued development

· Advisory capacity / mentor to other coach developers and learn to swim teachers

· Coordinate regular Community of Practice for coaches to facilitate discussions


2. Effective Relationships and Communication with SAQ’s Partners and Stakeholders

· Be the point of contact for the coaches & teachers community.

· Together with the Coach Development Executive, perform customer service and handling enquiries from the public, affiliates, and stakeholders on SAQ’s coach development programs and initiatives.

· Work closely with the SAQ Communications team to make sure SAQ’s coach development programs and activities are promoted across all relevant channels.

· Assist in maintaining communication channels with internal and external stakeholders regarding SAQ’s coach development programs and activities.


3. Others

· Assist in monitoring and refining the Multi-Year Sports Plan.

· Assist in preparing relevant information for SAQ’s Annual Report.

· Assist in preparing the annual Core Data information for Sport SG.

· All administrative matters relating to townhalls/engagements with coaching and teaching community.


C. REQUIREMENTS

· Diploma/Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Physical Education, Sports Management or any sports-related fields.

· Minimally NROC level 1 swimming coach certification

· Demonstrated skill in forming effective working relationships and success in managing individual and group dynamics across a range of key stakeholders

· Experience in swim coaching and/or club administration of performance and development/participation programs will be viewed favorably.

· Good understanding of coaching pedagogy.

· Understanding of the Singapore swimming landscape

· Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office and managing databases

· Willing to work on weekends.
