The main objective of the department is i) to develop new business opportunities in next generation energy field, such as hydrogen, ammonia, carbon credit, methanol, sustainable aviation fuel, through deep collaboration with the colleagues in Tokyo HQ as well as in the Asia Pacific region, and ii) to assist Chief Regional Officer in the Asia Pacific region, General Manager and Acting General Manager in Singapore Branch office, and subsidiaries of its business-related activities.
In doing so, as a Deputy Department Head, you will be required to lead the team, collaborate with colleagues in Tokyo HQ and branch offices in the Asia Pacific region as well as our group companies in the region, and build/develop networks with the local counterparts and government authorities where necessary, in order to explore business opportunities related to hydrogen and carbon credit field in the region. The expected roles include but not limited to the followings:
· To lead and manage activities of the Hydrogen team in Environmental Energy Business Department in Singapore Branch.
· To lead and manage activities of the Carbon Management team in Environmental Energy Business Department in Singapore Branch.
· To create new business models/projects in hydrogen and carbon credit field in the Asia Pacific region, which shall be aligned with the Company’s direction and Environmental Energy Group’s business strategies.
· To gather and analyze information and reports to identify global and local market trends, as well as new destinations and growth opportunities in hydrogen, carbon credit, and relevant business industries in the Asia Pacific region.
· To establish strong relationships with existing and prospective business partners, consultants, bankers, government authorities, etc. in the Asia Pacific region for potential business opportunities and gathering of market intelligence.
· To lead and manage good interactions with diverse groups of stakeholders, with the objective of forming possible business partnerships and commercializing projects.
· To guide, train, develop and motivate a diverse group of team members in Singapore branch office as well as in the other Asia Pacific region branch offices, and communicating in English & Japanese for effective team management.
Job Requirements
· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent.
· Skills, expertise and experiences to research, develop and deploy new business in relation to Energy business, especially for hydrogen and carbon credit.
· Strong Knowledge on investment and project finance practice.
· Well-versed on sustainable solutions, ESG and SDGs.
· High proficiency in Japanese and English (listening, speaking and writing) to communicate effectively through phone calls, video conference, emails and/or meetings with Tokyo HQ, Mitsubishi Corporation’s group companies and/or local and/or Japanese staff.
· Skills to prepare effective presentation materials both in Japanese and English, in order to communicate effectively with customers and/or for internal approval.
· Cross cultural efficacy to facilitate effective communication with Tokyo HQ, subsidiaries and department staff in Singapore and other Asia Pacific region.
· More than 10 years’ experience in abovementioned requirements.
