Key Responsibilities:
Digital Consumer Insurance
- Develop and execute strategies to digitize customer experience with a strong emphasis on leveraging IT capabilities to optimize straight through processing.
- Conduct market research and analysis, product evaluation, understanding of technology trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform strategy decisions.
- Evaluate existing capabilities, identify gaps and propose technology driven solutions for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align consumer strategies with overall business objectives, emphasizing digital transformation and focusing on the customer / broker / agent experience.
- Work with Head of technology across different domain area in digital, operation and claim and contribute to the architecture / solution deliverables, resource plans and estimation.
- Driving alignment and consistency of the architecture, platform strategy and solution design by working with regional and global architecture teams and other stakeholders.
- Owning and governing the architecture and solution design through the entire project implementation phase
- Make recommendations on patterns / best practices and implementation decisions
- Identify and work with potential strategic partners IT teams on mutually beneficial relationships to enhance the partnership network and extend the market reach.
- Work with development / engineering teams to engage in strategic roadmap and delivery projects
Technology Driven Product and Service Development
- Work closely with development teams to align strategies with new technology platforms and/or enhance existing platforms.
- Provide insights and recommendations on technology trends and digital innovations to meet customer needs and preferences.
- Analyse market feedback and customer data, leveraging data analytics and business intelligence tools to identify opportunities for improvements and potential cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
Collaboration and Self-Improvement
- Stay up to date with emerging IT trends and digital technologies to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantages.
- Collaborate closely with IT and the business (e.g. sales, underwriting and operations teams) to ensure alignment across all technology driven consumer efforts.
- Act as subject matter expert on consumer insurance and partnership matters, providing guidance and support on IT related projects.
Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Deep industry knowledge on insurance operations and the related technologies and their competencies. Should have prior programming experience. Must have knowledge and exposure to enterprise architecture, systems architecture and integration architecture standards, frameworks, security controls and other best practices.
- Experience: Total overall experience of 12-15yrs with a minimum of 5yrs insurance / financial service technology experience. Strong knowledge of insurance products and services for consumer and digital partnership. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful consumer strategies leveraging technology platforms which resulted in increased revenues or market share. Experience delivering and integrating vendor platforms
- Global/Regional: Ideally have at least 5yrs of regional/global experience with responsibilities over multi-country architecture and delivery. APAC experience is a preference and in particular experience with Korea market is a bonus.
- Business Engagement: Effective engagement and alignment of IT with executive sponsors and senior business stakeholders. Able to effectively manage relationships with external stakeholders (i.e. vendors and consultants) and internal stakeholders (e.g. development and operational teams).
- Communication: Can effectively discuss complex problems and solutions with different audiences at the appropriate level of detail i.e. technical vs non-technical audience. Able to give presentations to large groups of listeners and lead discussions to drive to a final decision or outcome.
- Language: The ability to effectively conduct business in English is a must. Proficiency in any other Asian languages, preferably Korean, is an added benefit
