Responsibilities
- Detailed study of various ports & services/assets availability. Determine the best cost and detect the correct procedures to be implemented to assure the Company’s conformity and, in parallel, to identify opportunities for greater profits.
- Ensures effective flow of communication between the Company, Clients, local sub-agents, and vendors based in the various ports in preparation for the ship visitation and/or the mission in the best possible way.
- To send local agents the list of services to be quoted and, upon receipt, analyze, negotiate the prices if necessary. To attend operational work “on site”. Monitor/ guide sub-agents and vendors’ performances and conduct.
- To manage operational emergencies by providing swift solutions to solve burning issues on the ground during the Ship’s port stay. To always ensure safety, traceability, and accountability.
- Manage port call from the start to end which includes file closure, detailing services rendered and verifying vendors’ invoices against the services provided and /or agreed under contractual obligations.
Required Skills
- 1-2 years of basic operational knowledge of port agency.
- Good command of English (verbal and writing)
- Ability to negotiate.
- Comfortable with Microsoft office – Word, Excel worksheet, PowerPoint & figures
