We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a prestigious Japanese fine dining restaurant located in the heart of downtown, for the role of an experienced Cold Dish Chef. This role is ideal for someone skilled in preparing Japanese cold dishes with a high level of expertise and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cold dish preparation: Prepare a variety of cold dishes, including appetizers and salads, with a focus on Japanese cuisine.
- Quality control: Ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant’s high standards in terms of taste, presentation, and freshness.
- Ingredient knowledge: Possess deep knowledge of Japanese ingredients and culinary techniques, ensuring the authenticity and quality of each dish.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team: Work closely with other chefs to maintain smooth kitchen operations and timely service.
- Menu input: Contribute creative ideas and suggestions for the cold dish section when required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cold Dish Chef in a Japanese fine dining restaurant or sushi bar.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese ingredients and cold dish preparation techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Experience:
- Expertise in preparing cold dishes and appetizers specific to Japanese fine dining.
- Previous experience in a high-end Japanese restaurant is highly preferred.
- Culinary qualifications or certifications in Japanese cuisine are a plus.
