Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to prepare authentic Indian cuisine at the food court. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in traditional Indian cooking techniques and recipes, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori, biryanis, and breads (naan, roti, etc.)
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely and hygienic manner following all health and safety guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing ideas for daily specials.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including utensils, equipment, and food storage.
- Monitor and manage inventory, ensuring the availability of ingredients and placing orders when needed.
- Ensure portion control and presentation of dishes.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and provide support to other team members as necessary.
- Handle customer requests and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring satisfaction.
Job Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in an Indian cuisine environment.
- Knowledge of various Indian spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking methods.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a busy food court environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on food presentation and taste.
- Ability to work well within a team and take direction from management.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Expertise in Indian culinary techniques (e.g., tandoor, curry preparation)
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
