Job Summary

SME Banking (“SME”) within Standard Chartered Bank aims to provide companies with turnover of up to US$50mio in Singapore a suite of product that meets their Cash management and financing requirements.
As a Relationship Manager, in addition to providing team support to your counterparts, you will be expected to bring in new SME clients and actively develop the accounts within your own portfolio. You are also expected to meet and exceed quarterly sales targets as stipulated in the “Quarterly Scorecard” as well as ensure that relationships managed by yourself consistently comment on how amazing your service is.

• Client Relationship Management
• Complaint handling
• Customer Due Diligence KYC

Business
You must have, or be prepared to quickly demonstrate a keen understanding of:
• all the products available to the clients, including all, Business Accounts, Cash management, loans, trade, investments, insurance, and hedging solutions;
• an ability to recommend and place the appropriate product to maximize the clients affinity to the bank;
• an ability to structure, articulate, and recommend alternative structures in the products above within cash management and credit programs;
• how to appropriate price products and recommend adjustments based on potential business and business risks;
• the relationships that you manage and positioning of those businesses that allow them to generate consistent profits
• an ability to place the full range of products across at least 30% of your customers.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

• NTB SME Clients
• Internal Stakeholders like Private Banking Team, International Banking Team, Priority Banking team, BBOT Team, BSSM, Trade Team, ME Onshore and Offshore Team, CA team.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • University Graduate
  • 3 plus years of experience in banking serving business/commercial/corporate clients.
  • Experience servicing international businesses under the cross-border context and track record in new to bank client acquisition is a plus
  • Strong compliance experience and knowledge to meet our regulatory requirements in areas of ‘Know Your Customer’ (“KYC”), ‘Anti-Money Laundering’ (“AML”), ‘Customer Due Diligence’ (“CDD”) and FATCA, CRS adherence
  • Sound product knowledge on trade, cash, lending and FX and strong understanding of local industries, supply/value chains and market environment
  • Knowledge of operational procedures, documentation requirements, banking practices and regulations related to commercial banking
  • Firm in all business guidelines and compliance issues
  • Sound knowledge of financial markets and investment products

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Familiar customer due diligence processes including FATCA and CRS adherence.
  • Familiar with basic working capital financing cycle and products for operating entities.
  • Familiar with basic Cash Management solutioning
