General Responsibilities:
- Be in the Teacher’s Preparation Room and food laboratories during working hours
- Ordering of food ingredients before lesson
- Preparation of ingredients before lessons, ensuring food is prepared and handled safely
- Maintaining cleanliness of utensils, equipment and food laboratories area
- Handling inventory and stock taking of resources e.g. books, utensils and equipment.
- Assisting the teacher during practical session e.g. ensuring that students observe safety rules, guiding students in preparation skills
- Administration – Checking and filing of invoices and keeping track of the cost of the ingredients
- Any other duties relating to the food laboratories assigned by NFS teachers, HOD/Craft and Technology and the School leaders.
Requirements:
- Basic mathematical skills e.g. able to calculate the amount of ingredients based on a given recipe for seven classes
- Good knowledge on food ingredients and food preparation.
- Preferably to have attained the Basic Food Hygiene Course
- Must have at least 1 year experience working on food preparation in a commercial/school or training kitchen
- Previous working experience in a school-kitchen will be an added advantage

- Working hours: Mon - Thurs, 7.30am to 4.30pm. Fri, 7.30am - 1.30pm.
