Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage the implementation of the Quality Assurance Program including the daily Quality Control checks, commissioning of new QA tools to ensure system performance is always at optimal condition
To provide optimised treatment plans and treatment time calculations to the radiotherapy Radiation. - Calculate and provide information on the estimated absorbed dose and dose equivalence of patients undergoing radiological examination. Primarily and professionally engaged in the dose measurement and quality assurance programme in the Centre.
Conduct investigation on the accidental radiation exposure to staff and patients.
Provide information and explanation to any queries with regards to the risk of radiation by patients or staff. - Oversee the maintenance and calibration of all imaging equipment to meet international clinical and safety standards
Use various QA test tools to ascertain equipment fault as first line check. - Supervise the radiation therapists to ensure that they perform their duties in accordance to the standards required of them and that they observe the radiation safety rules.
- Conduct investigations on the cause of any unexpectedly high dose report from NEA.
Provide training on the safe and proper use of radiation protection devices.
Conduct courses with lectures on radiation physics and radiation protection for other healthcare workers.
Manage and advise on the annual test reports of the radiation protection apparel to ensure all apparel are duly checked.
