Job Responsibilities
You will report to the Director, Corporate and your duties will include : -
- General knowledge as well as technical knowledge of property and building services & facilities operation and maintenance, workplace safety & health.
- Be the person-in-charge for the school’s routine operations, such as assembly and crowd control of facilities and School property issues.
- Be involved in the in-house maintenance personnel / contractors in daily facilities maintenance matters and to ensure that contractual obligations are adhered to.
- Assist in managing all technical budget, safety, and administration issues of the Facilities section.
- Proactive in monitoring requisite maintenance and building services that must be undertaken as well as to ensure necessary preventive and corrective maintenance works are adhered to.
- Organisation of work schedule for contractors / vendors.
- Assist in establishing, managing, monitoring and reviewing of department/ section work plan, work requirements and procedures, as well as to be in-charge of overall facilities resources planning and equipment for servicing and repair work.
- Assist in planning and administration of section budget, maintenance contracts, overall building infrastructure and facilities planning and development, operation and maintenance.
- Monitoring and control of budget expenditure, contractors/ vendors quantity and quality.
- Ensure building services and facilities are operated and maintained to comply with statutory requirements.
- Continuously seek to improve performance reliability and energy conservation of the building services and facilities.
- Assist in managing of the Health, Safety and Environmental function.
- Hands-on knowledge of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of facilities.
- May be required to perform shift work or work on one weekend where necessary (usually for school events)
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma in Facilities / Building Management or related field
- 3 years relevant working experience preferably in a school setting
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Pro-active, resourceful, meticulous, able to multi-task and highly organized.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
