Job Responsibilities
You will report to the Head of Department (Science) and your duties will include:-
• Preparing Chemistry lessons and Scheme of Work according to the required syllabuses
• Conducting learning activities in the classroom and laboratory
• Setting and vetting examination papers
• Invigilating tests and examinations
• Marking assignments and examination scripts
• Assessing and recording students’ progress according to department and school policies
• Organising relevant events, competitions, activities when needed
• Providing pastoral care and manage students’ discipline; performing all aspects of Care Teacher duties if
assigned
• Completing all administrative duties related to teaching Chemistry
• Maintaining good communication with students, parents and colleagues
• Attending Parent-Teacher-Meetings, average 3 times a year
Qualifications and Job Requirements
• Candidate must possess minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from a university
• A Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Institute of Education (NIE) is a plus
• At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience in Chemistry in a school setting
• Familiar with Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level and/or IBDP Year 11 and 12
• Meticulous and well-organised
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
