Role:
- Promote and manage vessels’ health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Ensure vessels are capable of performing their voyages and operations.
- Arrange and manage audits and inspections required by the recognised organisation (RO) – ISM, ISPS, and MLC.
- Coordinate and manage vetting inspections, including submissions to the OCIMF SIRE online platform.
- Oversee navigational matters, including the approval of passage plans and conducting navigation audits.
- Ensure compliance with requirements from terminals, operators, oil majors, and charterers.
- Liaise with and manage matters related to Flag State and Port State.
- Ensure Q88 and HVPQ are always updated.
- Advise on changes to regulations, requirements, and industry best practices.
- Monitor, review, and update the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
- Provide vessels with guidance and information on the above areas.
- Offer support, training, and enforcement for crew competency and discipline.
- Provide assistance regarding queries about vessels’ capabilities and performances.
- Serve as a member of the company’s emergency response team.
- Attend to assigned projects and tasks.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of seagoing experience as a Master (CoC Class 1) or at least 2 years of shore experience in safety, health, and environment management and compliance for Oil/Chem tankers.
- Familiarity with international and local maritime regulations and requirements.
- Strong integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent leadership, teamwork, management, and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire people.
