TITLE: Economic Data Team Manager – Asia Pacific Rim Data
NYC based company has a mid-level position available with our economic data group in our Singapore office located in the Central Business District. We are seeking an energetic and experienced candidate with a masters degree in computational and/or economics degree to join our team of data manager professionals. Mid or senior level candidates are encouraged to apply. We are looking for candidates who are detail oriented and have outstanding computer and communication skills. Detailed information on duties and responsibilities are found below. Fluency in English is needed in order to liaise with associates, clients and data sources.
DUTIES:
- Monitor update times by regularly reviewing that updates are completed by Economic Database Managers shortly after release to ensure databases have timely data.
- Monitor and verify quality assurance program output to ensure data are accurate.
- Coordinate with managers on the Singapore, Asian shift, London and International Day teams to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
- Ensure long term quality assurance checks are run on databases.
- Review update procedures for each data release done by Economic Database Managers for efficiency and accuracy and ensure they are current and that all team members can use.
- Coordinate and review processing data content changes and revisions to data from country sources. Track, prioritize and assign data development and changes to releases.
- Ensure quantity and quality of our client support.
- Provide support, training and troubleshooting (technical and procedural) to Economic Database Managers and Economic Data Assistants for updates, QA, and projects.
- Identify problems within databases, develop plans to remedy and ensure Economic Database Managers address.
- Assist with hiring and training, and conduct reviews of Economic Database Managers and Economic Data Assistants.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a Masters degree in Computational Social Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance Economics and Data Science/Management degree or related technical degree or related field or foreign equivalent
- At least 2 years experience working with economic databases or related occupation. Experience must include automating updates using Python and batch files; creating new python programs to make the data team more efficient (maintaining and creating new automation data pipelines, make new python programs); Getting data from specific sources using Python, VBA, batch files and source APIs.
- Worked with applicable country statistical agencies and central banks websites; Creating new processes for retrieving data; and using python, website watcher and windows task.
