LOVE, NILS is a Singapore-registered IPC charity; our mission is to provide high quality programmes that provide meaningful psychosocial support to our beneficiaries – children with cancer and their families.
We are seeking a Community Engagement Manager to lead our Community Engagement Department as a key representative in creating a comprehensive strategy with meaningful activities for our volunteers (individuals, schools, corporations and community partners) to engage with our beneficiaries and contribute towards our goals.
This is a highly collaborative role that focuses on our Community Journey, working with a diversity of partners and community groups. Strong interpersonal skills with experience in end-to-end project management and programme planning is key. Impact evaluation and being solutions driven is required in improving our volunteer and community programmes.
Reports to: Executive Director
Work arrangement: Hybrid (in office & work from home)
Compensation: Basic monthly + yearly performance bonus
RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Engagement and Development
- Strategise and lead community engagement framework that would develop our community of volunteers and supporters who wish to be part of our mission
- Serve as a trusted ambassador to oversee and manage our network of individuals, schools, corporations, associations, clubs and community partners to support our programmes and fundraising activities
- Design thinking of meaningful activities that are community-driven – fundraising fairs at schools and corporations, toy drives, hospital visits and toy distribution, in-hospital events such as mini performances, parent and volunteer support groups etc.
- Adopt best practices of volunteer management in guiding the volunteer process, advising on activities and supervising their engagement with beneficiaries and caregivers; working closely with our Programmes & Strategy Manager
- Develop and implement volunteer training programs to enhance volunteer capabilities and improve volunteer engagement and retention
- Research and tap into the diversity of strengths and resources of our community to enhance our programmes for beneficiaries and caregivers
- Manage end-to-end operations of the department including event management, logistics and procurement of vendors and suppliers
- Ensure all activities and partnerships are in compliance with charity regulations in relation to charitable fundraising in Singapore – manage charity permit applications where applicable
- Develop and execute communications plan to effectively raise awareness and advocate for our mission and community involvement; work closely with Marketing Department
Fundraising
- Steward and grow partnerships with potential for outright and in-kind donations; working closely with our Fundraising Manager
- Research and apply for grant opportunities that are applicable to scope of work
- Search of resources and funding that could enhance the community engagement strategy
Evaluation and Reports
- Ensure that the programmes and activities meet the performance indicators (KPIs) for community engagement, volunteer management and fundraising as recommended by NCSS, MOH and MOE (where schools may be involved)
- Effective budget planning and allocation to maximise resources while adhering to approved budgets for costs and expenditure of activities
- Monitor and measure performance (KPIs) to optimise results against programme goals
- Collect community programme analytics and data – including feedback, testimonials and surveys — for impact evaluation and annual report assessment
- Research and analyse what other similar social service agencies and charities are doing locally and internationally
- Submit monthly and quarterly reports and assessment, and provide solutions to improve our strategies
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology or related field
- 3+ year experience in community engagement, volunteer management, social service programme planning or related field
- Previous experience working or volunteering in non-profit or social service agencies a plus
- Highly resourceful with strong interpersonal and communications skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong in strategy planning and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects at once
- Resourceful, self-motivated and target driven with a keen sense of innovation
- Flexible to work occasional weekends and evenings (time off in lieu will be given)
