Responsibilities
1. Manage Crew Recruitment Process
· Maintain effective communication and build strong relationships with crewing agencies to facilitate recruitment.
· Assist in screening and evaluating candidates to ensure they meet company standards.
· Verify the qualifications and certifications of potential and newly recruited crew members.
· Liaise with agents regarding crew contract matters and assist in negotiations as needed.
2. Manage Crew Deployment
· Monitor crew and vessel certificate validity, providing support to superintendents on manning issues.
· Track crew contract status and work permit validity, arranging crew changes as necessary.
· Develop and manage deployment schedules, updating crew manifests based on availability.
· Oversee day-to-day administrative tasks, including leave scheduling, grievance investigations, and disciplinary matters, escalating complex issues to senior management as required.
3. Administer Digital Port-Related Matters
· Oversee digital port processes to ensure compliance with relevant port regulations.
· Monitor and review shipping and port circulars from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), addressing any crewing-related implications.
Job specification
· Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Proficiency in Malay preferred, due to crew demographics.
· 2-3 years of experience in crewing or maritime operations, ideally in a similar role.
· Strong understanding of international maritime regulations, including STCW Convention.
· Familiarity with Singapore maritime regulations and MPA requirements.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
· Strong administrative and multitasking capabilities.
