Role:
- Ensure the safe and economical operation of allocated ships.
- Be fully familiar with the Company’s Management System.
- Effectively implement the Company’s Management System.
- Contribute to the development or amendment of procedures.
- Promote and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Monitor compliance with the Company’s Management System in shipboard and departmental activities.
- Oversee the performance, technical, and operational conditions of assigned ships.
- Ensure prudent financial management.
- Arrange for repairs and dry dockings.
- Ensure ships are fully certified to international standards and requirements.
- Ensure appropriate manning of ships.
- Prepare technical reports for owners in compliance with the management agreement.
- Foster a strong safety culture and environmental & energy awareness on board assigned ships.
- Provide support to shipboard management on technical and operational matters.
Requirements:
- Holds a marine degree from a university with at least three years of experience on ships or in the shipping industry.
- Alternatively, possesses a Chief Engineer’s license with at least two years of sea service as a Chief Engineer.
- Alternatively, has served as a Technical Superintendent with another shipping company for at least two years.
- Experience with container and bulk vessels.
- Strong leadership, control, and communication abilities.
- Team-oriented with a good command of English.
- Solid understanding of the marine industry and relevant regulations.
- Strong technical knowledge of assigned vessels.
- Familiar with purchasing and budget cost management.
