- Operate the Combined Cycle Power Plant safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established operational guidelines to meet output requirements.
- Prepare for, execute, and monitor the startup, shutdown, and routine operations of generation units and auxiliary systems.
- Carry out condition monitoring, review operating parameters, and correct deviations to maintain optimal plant performance.
- Identify, report, and rectify all system, plant, and equipment defects.
- Ensure adherence to the plant’s generation dispatch schedule, conducting operational tests and inspections as required.
- Respond to plant emergencies, equipment failures, and outages.
- Manage generating unit operations and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety measures and specifications.
- Monitor work areas and inspect tools and equipment to detect and prevent unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Prepare daily shift log reports and other operational reports.
- Liaise with external agencies (e.g., EMA PSO, PUB, NEA, SCDF) on operational matters during shift duty.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- Knowledge of plant processes, operations, and safety protocols.
- Relevant experience in power plant operations, or related industries, is advantageous.
- Possession of a 2nd Grade Engineer (Steam) Certificate of Competency or a 1st Grade Engineer (Steam Combustion Engine) Certificate of Competency awarded by the Ministry of Manpower is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Maximo EAM or equivalent software.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, self-motivated, independent, and a team player.
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
