RESPONSIBILITY
The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the implementation, operation and maintenance of application infrastructure services that meet application requirements and business needs, and is aligned to Government’s policies, standards and procedures.
The IT Infrastructure Engineer will get to:
Engage stakeholders to translate business requirement into application infrastructure design and services to meet the intended availability, capacity, resiliency, security and continuity requirements;
Forecast budget needed to support the project initiatives and maintenance contracts;
Work with service providers to design, develop, deploy and configure IT application infrastructure projects to meet confidentiality, availability and data integrity needs;
Ensure Agency’s Technical Architecture and application infrastructure are in compliance with IM8 and Agency’s IT Policies and Standards;
Manage day-to-day delivery and support of application infrastructure services; and
Collaborate with other government agencies and central services teams to facilitate and deliver government-wide application services.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NEEDED
Degree or Diploma in IT, computer or related disciplines
Minimum 3 years of working experience for Engineer and 5 years of working experience for Senior Engineer
Hands-on experience in at least 1 full project development life cycles for Engineer and 3 full project development life cycles for Senior Engineer
Ability to take a broad, strategic perspective as well as drill down to understand business needs and challenges
Results and customer oriented mind-set
Team player with strong organization and people handling skills
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to pitch ideas and influence stakeholders
ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred
