Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth due diligence background checks and screening on prospects (including staff), clients and counterparties to identify the risks of the client or counterparty and the Bank.
- Liaise with front line staff for new on-boarding and periodic reviews.
- Liaise with regulator and auditors on all regulatory related matters.
- Prepare the internal compliance certification and policies to be distributed to the staff and management.
- Identify red flag situations and escalate in line with policy and procedures.
- Investigate suspicious transactions and make necessary recommendations to senior management to file the appropriate STR to CAD and MAS.
- Review and check completeness of maintaining the static information for branch internal watchlist.
- Enforce Quality Assurance on daily transactions related to AML/CFT.
- Any other projects/duties related to compliance matters as may be assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in AML/KYC, sanctions, preferably in the corporate banking environment and familiar with MAS Notice 626.
- Self-starter, resourceful, independent, active team-player and able to work well with the team.
- Objective thinker, organised and meticulous with good attention to details in analysing issues.
- Multi-tasker with dexterity in prioritizing and delivering consistent results under pressure and timely.
- Articulate, assertive and equipped with substantial interpersonal, analytical and writing skills.
- Any compliance certification is certainly an advantage.
