Position
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Ops Engineer to join our Application Services department. This a very hands-on technical role to drive continuous improvement initiatives on top of day-to-day BAU support. We need someone with fresh and relevant ideas, who is passionate about learning new things and wants to develop themselves further.
As we are covering the bank’s global operations, you will work in rotational shifts and be occasionally doing on-call support during non-business hours. This will be an opportunity to have a better perspective of what can be further improved in production!
Main Responsibilities
You will mainly be responsible for:
- Providing primary operational technical support and assist the functional support teams.
- Improving complex operations (DRP, Migrations, Major maintenance etc.).
- Improving reliability and quality of our systems (automation, monitoring, alerting, security, RCA etc.).
- Reducing time-to-market by implementing CICD pipelines wherever possible.
- Managing technical issues, escalations and ensuring good level of delivery.
- Maintain, improve and standardize existing workflow processes and framework.
- Promoting knowledge sharing within the organization (trainings, documentation, etc.).
- Bridge the gap between Dev and Ops on operations side.
Qualifications and Profile
Functional
- Experience in a banking production environment is a plus
Hard Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience with UNIX environments.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Python, *nix shell, PowerShell and REST API.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines: GitLab, Helm.
- Minimum 4 years of hands on experience with Ansible, GIT, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, S3 and Kafka.
- Experience with task schedulers such as Control-M.
- Good understanding of IT ecosystems and application architectures.
- Knowledge about:
- ITIL & Agile practices, Lean management.
- Skills on observability tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, AppDynamics or DynaTrace are a plus.
Soft Skills
- Good communication skills.
- Fluent in English, French is a plus.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proactive and able to propose new ideas.
- Positive attitude towards continuous learning and improvement.
- Team player.
- Curious about new technologies.
Work Schedule
- Required to work on Paris and/or New York and/or Asia time zone*, i.e. 2pm to 11pm/4pm to 1am (summer season) or 3pm to 12am/ 5pm to 2am (winter season), or in accordance to the planned time schedule as required. If necessary, you may also be required to start work earlier or to extend working hours.
- May be required to be available for on-call support during non-business hours and/or on weekends. Allowance is claimable for such hours.
