Levanta Renewables is a renewable energy developer and independent power producer in Southeast Asia. We are developing 1.5 GW of renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia through M&A and greenfield development of C&I and utility scale projects.
Due to business expansion, we are actively seeking an Investment Manager to be based in Singapore to join our M&A team. This role reports to the Head of Strategy and M&A. This individual will be a key member of the leadership team and will work closely with other departments to identify, evaluate, and execute M&A opportunities that align with the company’s strategic goals and growth objectives. In this role, the Investment Manager will be working within a lean team and will need to be able to work efficiently and effectively to identify and pursue potential M&A opportunities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation of M&A opportunities for Levanta end-to-end (origination – conducting due diligence – submitting offers – transaction documents negotiations – closing the transaction.
- Lead the preparation of all key memos (board presentations, valuation note etc.) pertaining to M&A opportunities.
- Lead the liaison with the prospective sellers / partners and drive the negotiations with them
- Be the main point of contact for Head of Strategy and M&A in M&A processes across the board.
- Guide Analysts / Associates on financial modeling, key assumptions etc. and review their work
- Create and maintain the M&A deal pipeline
- Build a strong network for originating deals and systematic approach to shortlist and process deals
Ideal candidate should possess
- Strong analytical and corporate finance skills: Able to understand and assess value & value drivers for contemplated M&A opportunities with strong fundamentals of financial valuation techniques such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis, Comparable Company Analysis (Comps), Precedent Transactions, etc.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills: Able to effectively present proposals to the leadership team and external stakeholders including investors. Builds and maintains excellent relationships with external advisors.
- Strong negotiation and deal-making skills: Responsible for negotiating and structuring M&A deals, including structuring due diligence programs and coordinating the same.
- Strong problem-solving skills: Able to identify and evaluate complex M&A opportunities and develop creative solutions to overcome challenges and barriers.
- Leadership experience: Responsible for guiding and mentoring junior analysts and will need to be able to lead and motivate team members to achieve shared goals.
- Ability to work well under pressure: Need to be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Attention to detail: The Investment Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end M&A process and must pay close attention to detail and ensure that all aspects of the process are handled accurately and efficiently.
- Education level: At least a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration or other relevant certifications such as CFA will be seen as an advantage.
- Job experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in M&A or a related field, with a track record of successfully leading M&A deals. Experience in the wind and solar energy industry and / closing deals within SEA will be an advantage.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required.
