As part of our robust growth in the structured credit space, we have expansion openings in the following department – Credit Analysts, and Senior Credit Analysts, in the Regional Credit (RC).
RC, an integral part of our structured debt franchise in Asia, has the principal mandate for all wholesale structured debt products offered by UOBKH across the various business units, including prime brokerage, private wealth management, structured finance, and structured solutions well as our regional brokerage firms. All of our financing (proposals) commitments are structured, processed, and proposed through RC. This department plays a core role in delivering our strategy in the markets we choose to operate in.
The position offers an excellent, rare opportunity to look at some of the most specialised businesses and industry verticals across the Asia Pacific, ranging from Real Estate, Utilities, Offshore & Marine, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Metals & Mining, Natural Resources, Media & Technology, e-Commerce, Financial Institutions and Acquisition Financing.
The role will sit within the Regional Credit department, reporting directly to the Head of Regional Credit. The successful candidate can expect frequent, regular interactions and presentations to senior management, including the executive directors, the CEO and Chairman at the credit committee forum.

What is the job like?
- Providing in-depth credit and fundamental analysis, including assessing and valuing multiple asset classes (e.g. listed shares, bonds, derivatives, structured products, properties, etc.) as potential collateral.
- Monitor, review and analyse regional capital market activities and corporate actions (e.g. privatisation, corporate takeover, rights issue, IPO, etc.).
- Support the seniors in presenting financing opportunities to the screening committee forum.
- Assist and support the seniors in deal structuring, negotiation of structured debt terms, and delivery of bankable financing.
- Taking an active role in the internal credit application process and being part of the deal team to present the proposals to the credit committee.
- Review and assist in preparing legal documentation and ensuring proper compliance with local and international regulations and the UOB Kay Hian credit policy guidelines.
- Other ad-hoc duties / projects as assigned by the Head of Department.
Who are we looking for?
- Numerate, analytical, well organised, able to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Team player. Highly adaptable to a cross-cultural environment and working closely with a multitude of professionals from various nationalities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for this role due to regional coverage.
- At least 3 years of credit and financial analysis experience in commercial/corporate banking, preferably from a reputable financial institution, or 3 years of audit experience.
- A good degree, preferably in Accounting and Finance, CFA, CA or MBA, from a reputable university.
- Some security documentation experience would be desirable.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of companies listed on the regional stock exchanges will be advantageous.
