St Francis Methodist School caters to children from 6 to 18 years of age. We are looking for a passionate, adaptable High School Geography Teacher to grow our Humanities Department.
You will be reporting to Head of Department (Humanities) and your job responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Willingness to contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Geography and Humanities team and broader High School
- Construct learner-centred education and experiences, support the diversity of learners in each classroom and demonstrate the ability to employ technologies and deliver inquiry-based teaching and learning
- Implement formative and summative assessments that are timely, relevant and provide appropriate feedback to support students’ learning
- Demonstrate effective classroom management, create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, and employ strategies to support the academic learning, social and emotional well-being of students
- Proactively engage and communicate with parents/guardians on students’ learning and well-being
- Promote the ethos and values of the school
- Undertake as Form class teacher, Co-Academic programme duties and participate in school committees and events
- Perform teaching-related administrative duties
Requirements
- A degree in Geography or Geography-related field
- Recognised Diploma in Teaching / equivalent certification
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience
- Familiarity with one or more of the following syllabi:
- a) Singapore Cambridge 'O' Level
- b) International General Certificate of Secondary Education (UK)
- c) Western Australian Certificate of Education (Australian High School)
- d) International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
- An international outlook and understanding of working in diverse environment
- Self-motivated and passionate about educating youths
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Flexible and adaptable, able to manage change and ambiguity well
- Adept in learning new educational tools and software where necessary
