About the Job
1) To carry out supervision of the construction of the Structural Works, including structural
works under the contractor’s ST submissions, under the Building Control Act and to render
all assistance as may be required by the SO/QP (C&S).
2) To liaise with all respective parties ie Client, SO, Structural Engineer, M&E Engineer, Quantity
Surveyor, Main Contractor, Nominated Sub-Contractor if any, Government’s Authorities and
others related to the project.
3) To monitor work in progress in accordance to Master Schedules with breakdown to Monthly,
Weekly, and Daily programmes
4) To assist the QP on weekly and monthly reports of site progress as per contractor’s approved
program, activities, issues and resolutions.
5) To study all Approved Construction Drawings, Specifications and report/record on any
discrepancies / deviations from the contract drawings.
6) To ensure the Contractor strictly comply to Specification, Approved Construction Drawings,
Approved Shop Drawings, Approved Method Statement of Works as well as BCA requirements
and other Statutory Boards compliances.
7) To carry out site supervision and inspection of the works, including any off-site
manufacturing, dry-lay inspections as instructed by the SO to ensure that works are
constructed to the required quality and accuracy.
8) To ensure all work on site meets the established level of quality in approved trade demo,
mock up and prototypes.
9) To ensure the architectural design intent for junction details of finishes is applied throughout and to monitor progress of the works on site and at any off-site manufacturing facilities and
report delays immediately.
10) To maintain proper and updated daily records of all works done, including records of tests,
inspections, status of works, safety, housekeeping, site diary, materials and equipment on
site, labour, dayworks, provisional quantities, etc and also signing off mandatory quality
records.
11) To maintain weekly photographic records.
12) To check that contractor executes preliminaries items AND to check services routes and contractor’s setting out and report any deviations to the SO.
13) To check and verify reports, variations and progress claims submitted by contractors,
including evaluation of the cost for the variations and its time effect and to record all variations as instructed or approved by the SO.
14) To inspect and assist the Client to take over completed works and to undertake any other duties related to the project as and when instructed by the SO and RE.
15) To attend meetings when necessary to discuss issues arising on site.
16) To be familiar with Microsoft Software and Project PIMS System and to use the software &
system to maintain a database for site inspections and defects.
17) To assist SO and RE in post contract administration of contractual claims and finalization of
contractors’ accounts and to assist RE in the preparation and monitoring of Monthly Maintenance Period Report
updating the status of rectification of known defects, the discovery/notification of any new
defects, and recording all new directions/instructions to the contractor.
18) To ensure safety measures must fully comply to Safety Rules & Regulations set by MOM and
In-House Factory. Good house-keeping, clear obstruction free from access passage way and
disposal of debris immediately to prevent cause from fire hazards.
19) To provide standing supervision to all structural activities especially demolishing and
connection to partial of existing building, piling, concreting and other high risks working
activities on going and as and when directed by the SO/QP (C&S).
20) To have pro-active inspection with early warning to contractors on site shall ensure good
quality finishes to all trade during on-going construction stages.
The RTO shall assist the QP to maintain the following records at site office; and any other
documents/drawings as directed by SO and QP. The RTO shall work with the QP on the required filing system to be adopted.

2. Quantitative and Financial Records
(a) Series of materials of sketches and dimensions of work as executed, where different
from the contract drawings. To liaise, and effectively allow QS to establish financial
impact on project cost.

(c) Confirmation of work carried out in accordance with the Superintending Officer's
Instructions.
