Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, grill, and cook yakitori skewers and other Japanese dishes to the restaurant's high standards.
- Ensure quality control of ingredients and final dishes, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to create and refine the yakitori menu and other Japanese dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring all cooking stations meet hygiene standards.
- Manage food preparation areas, stock, and inventory to ensure sufficient supplies during service hours.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on yakitori and Japanese cooking techniques.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Assist in developing new Japanese dishes or seasonal specials to enhance the dining experience.
- Monitor grill temperature and timing for optimal cooking results.
- Work closely with the restaurant manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Yakitori Chef or in a Japanese kitchen environment.
- Expertise in grilling yakitori skewers and proficiency in other Japanese cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen.
- Strong attention to detail and passion for maintaining high culinary standards.
