Position Summary:
As Illumina’s Senior Product Manager of Genotyping Arrays, you will manage on-market products and lead new product introductions targeting novel application areas. This role will be critical in supporting the large existing user base for Illumina’s array technology as well as enabling the commercial team to address new and emerging markets and applications.
Position Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of on-market human genotyping array products
• Manage the definition of new products using techniques such voice of customer and voice of field.
• Develop marketing strategies, including market sizing, customer segmentation, competitive analysis, product roadmaps, and pricing recommendations for new products.
• Develop marketing materials for specific applications and set product specifications in collaboration with related departments.
• Establish and maintain successful relationships with key customers.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing groups to develop product messaging
• Provide profitability, forecasting, and gross margin analyses for Illumina’s products and services.
• Work closely with R&D and other departments to ensure products meet the company’s high standards.
• Stay current on scientific literature and competitor activities. Actively disseminate critical knowledge and technical know-how within product management and R&D teams to grow expertise with the broader team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
• Strong analytical skills and ability to tie detailed analysis to larger strategy is required.
• Basic understanding of business and corporate finance concepts is required.
• Sales or customer facing experience is required.
• Strong project management and organizational skills are required.
• Excellent communication and team management skills are required.
• Demonstrated product life cycle experience required.
• Experience with genetic analysis (sequencing, genotyping, epigenetics, and/or expression) technologies is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with market research techniques is preferred.
• Willing to travel up to 10%

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:
• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of Product Management experience.
