Responsibilities
Overall: To grow your business(es) profitably and leave it (them) in better
shape than when you took them over.
To grow existing businesses to full potential, in addition to expanding and launching new disciplines. Key is to drive revenue and profit growth by maintaining high conversion rates.
The key responsibilities are
- Profit
- Responsible to operating profit level for designated business units / teams
- Business Development
- Maintaining our client contact network
- Assist Managers and teams in key account development
- Lead client presentations / proposals, pitching for PSAs
- New business development initiatives
- Lead in Account Management focus across all Michael Page disciplines, locations ie build strong relationships
- Driving appropriate activity levels
- People
- Be seen as the “centre of excellence” for day to day recruitment issues
- Communicate team vision and goals
- Provide support, guidance, expertise to managers and consultants
- Manage headcount
- Manager, consultant feedback, training and development needs
- Training of staff + mapping out their career paths
- Support / Business Management
- Ensure that monthly processes / procedures are actioned by Managers
- Develop effective working relationships with Group Services functions
- Marketing / Advertising
- Ensure teams implement / execute annual divisional marketing and advertising plan
- Actively involved in client entertainment, luncheons, seminars, networking forums
- Budgeting / Business Planning
- In conjunction with Director, responsible for putting together annual budget for area of responsibility
- Design a structured business plan & communicate it to the team
- Recruitment / Consulting
- Actively involved in doing senior executive level recruitment assignments, selling retainers, etc
- attend monthly Board meeting as required
- other projects as required by your Director
Key Performance Areas
- Financial
- Year on year revenue / profit performance
- Revenue / profit performance against budget and quarterly reforecasts.
- Cost control
- Level of client paid advertising (print and online)
- Productivity - increasing revenue per fee earner
- Maintaining / increasing permanent fees levels
- Contracting (where relevant)
- Maintaining / increasing number of temps / contractors
- Maintaining / increasing margins
- People
- Centre of excellence on day-to-day recruitment issues
- Maintaining low staff turnover
- Career and succession planning within the team
- Internal relationships with other divisions, offices, functions, international operations
- Generate a high level of passion, energy & enthusiasm
- Demonstrate absolute integrity and ethics in all activities
