Responsibilities
The Managing Director will lead and manage all operations and business activities of the recycling company, ensuring long-term success, sustainability, and growth.
- Develop and implement the company’s long-term vision, strategy, and objectives;
- Drive the growth and sustainability of the business, identifying new opportunities and markets;
- Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability;
- Oversee the company’s recycling processes, ensuring that all operations comply with environmental standards and regulations;
- Manage resource allocation to optimize operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity;
- Supervise key departments, including procurement, production, logistics, and waste management;
- Prepare and manage the company’s budget, financial reports, and forecasts;
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the company’s financial health and operational efficiency;
- Work with the finance team to manage cash flow, cost control, and capital investment strategies;
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, government authorities, and investors;Ensure transparency and accountability in company operations and decision-making;
- Ensure full compliance with local and international environmental regulations and standards;
- Drive talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement;
- Implement health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees;
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention;
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes impacting the recycling industry;
- Identify and capitalize on emerging trends in recycling technology and sustainable practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the recycling, waste management, or environmental sector;
- Experience in regional recycling operations would be an advantage;
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, recycling processes, and sustainability practices;
- Good financial acumen and ability to drive profitability while maintaining operational excellence;
- Strategic thinker with the ability to lead change, innovate, and inspire teams;
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills;
- Passion for environmental sustainability and commitment to the company’s mission.
