Job Scope:
Provide support to school teachers for ALP lessons and school programmes. Duties will generally include: -
1. ALP Lessons:
a. Support the ALP lessons on relevant logistics where students are equipped with baseline knowledge of Design Thinking (DT) Principles
b. Support the ALP lessons on relevant hardware including but not limited to Microbit, M5Go, ArtificiaI Intelligence according to given schedule and school’s needs
c. Provide advice to students on the technical feasibility of their projects, and provide suggestions for improvement
d. Conduct ALP lessons in the technical aspects with the support of teachers
2. ALP Talent Development:
a. Support talented students in ALP and coding through school-based programmes during curriculum time and after-school
b. Support students with the ideation, design and development of products at school’s makerspace during curriculum time and after-school
3. Hardware-support for ALP lessons and activities
a. Prepare all necessary facilities and equipment before start of ALP lessons and activities,
b. Return all equipment to designated places at the end of ALP lessons and activities
c. Ensuring that all facilities are operational during ALP lessons and activities, by working together with ICT Manager/Associate and Desktop Engineers (DE)
d. Assisting teachers and students when they encounter difficulties in using the computers, Personal Learning Devices (PLDs) or other equipment during their ALP lessons and activities.
4. School-related Administration:
a. Update official school website and school broadcast system
b. Learn new programming software or technologies e.g. IOT, AI when exploring new STEM coding programme or activities with the school
c. Work with the STEM Instructors (Lab) to keep track of, and organise the ALP inventory in the school’s makerspace for efficient conduct of lessons and activities
5. Perform any other ALP and school-related tasks as assigned by School Leader/Key Personnel
The Personnel should minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
1. Able to read, write and speak in English.
2. Have good communication and inter-personal skills.
3. Is a good team player and responsible in carrying out tasks in school when duties are assigned
4. Preferably with at least 3 years working experience in a Secondary school environment, and with students.
5. Experienced in designing and delivering lessons to secondary school students.
6. Possess intermediate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills in the following:
a. Personal Computers (PCs) troubleshooting
b. Microsoft Office (MS) Office software
c. Google Suites applications
7. Possess intermediate STEM or coding language such as Micro:bit, M5Go
8. Possess intermediate knowledge in the following:
a. Computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing softwares eg Sketchup, OnShape, TinkerCad (CAD) and Cura, Flashprint (3DP).
b. Operation of 3D Printer
c. Soldering to construct electrical circuits using electronic components.
9. Be flexible with working hours depending on school needs.
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
· Mondays & Wednesdays: 7:30am to 3:30pm, inclusive of ½ hr lunch break
· Tuesdays & Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of ½ hr lunch break
· Fridays: 7:30am to 1:00pm
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
