ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all aspects of Finance and Accounting practices and processes, including but not limited to establishing and coaching finance team, reviewing financial reports for companies under the management of Singapore Headquarters supporting business needs and ensure the proper implementation of company strategies and objectives, and any other duties assigned by Group CFO.
- Establishing and coaching the finance team for CUL Singapore Headquarters, setting up and Implementing finance policies to ensure that compliance with IFRS accounting policies and local regulatory requirements.
- Implementing internal systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting of financial information.
- Managing day-to-day accounting and finance operations of Singapore Headquarters and its affiliates.
- Managing and monitoring overall accounts payable and receivables process.
- Responsible for monitoring bank accounts for CUL Singapore Headquarters and its affiliates, cooperating with the HQ for cross-border funds collection.
- Responsible for examining and verifying original voucher if significant issues are noted, closing account, reviewing of financial statements, preparing consolidated financial statements for CUL overseas companies.
- Preparing budgets according to HQ's requirements and performing rolling budget analysis under the instructions of the Group finance department.
- Providing the P/L analysis on TP lines, Mediterranean lines, and Intra-Asia.
- Executing cost management and monitoring expenses reimbursement in accordance with the Group’s policy.
- Supporting Group CFO to improve the process of internal controls and advising how to improve the working efficiency and controlling the risks.
- Any other duties assigned by the Management.
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum 5 years of working experience, inclusive of 4 years of managerial experience in shipping industry is preferred.
- Big 4 audit experience is an advantage.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (essential).
- Familiar with the knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a must.
- More than 3 years of relevant working experience in the shipping industry is preferred.
- Excellent business analytical and decision-making skills.
- People oriented and results driven.
- Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and accounting software.
- Be able to work under pressure, diligent, and willing to grow with a young company with the spirit of entrepreneurship.
- Effectively bilingual in both English and Mandarin (as the position needs to frequently communicate with English/Chinese speaking associates verbally/ in writing whenever appropriate.
